Tens of thousands of people have died of Covid-19. But far more lives will be lost in the global downturn caused by the containment measures. So far, the G-20 countries have hardly responded to appeals for help.

Falmost 80,000 people have already died worldwide from Covid-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. This is the situation as of 7 April, and many thousands more will certainly be added in the coming weeks, despite the radical measures that are in force almost everywhere in the world.
