And suddenly the new laws passed by the government don’t stand up to scrutiny!
The Higher Administrative Court (OVG) in Greifswald has suspended the travel restrictions for the inhabitants of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at Easter. The judges overturned the ban on day trips to the Baltic Sea islands, the coast and the lake district on Thursday. A court spokesperson said the decision was unappealable. Prime Minister Manuela Schwesig (SPD) appealed to the citizens of the state to nevertheless refrain from trips to the tourist hotspots in MV in the next few days. She hopes that citizens will stay in their homes during the holidays if possible, so as not to jeopardize the successes achieved so far in containing the coronavirus.
